The Franklin Sixth Form College Scholarships 2025, which will begin in October 2024, feature the Grimsby Town Football Club (GTFC) Football Shadow Scholarship, which is aimed to provide ambitious footballers with the best of both worlds: high-level football training and a full-time educational experience.

The GTFC Football Shadow Scholarship, which is delivered in collaboration with Grimsby Town Sports and Education Trust, offers a one-of-a-kind opportunity for students who want to pursue a career in football or a sport related sector. Whether your aim is to play professionally, further your education in sports, or get a position in the sports sector, this scholarship will help you succeed.

 

Overview of the Programme.

GTFC U19 Football Shadow Scholarship is open to 16-year-olds with extraordinary football talent. Students will get the opportunity to:

 

  • Train three times a week, focusing on strength and conditioning, football skills, and mastering game techniques.
  • Compete in the prestigious EFL Community & Education Football Alliance (CEFA), representing the Grimsby Town U19 shadow team against other U19 squads across the country.
  • Study for a Level 3 Sports qualification, covering essential topics such as anatomy, physiology, sports leadership, and coaching.

Training sessions are held at Franklin Sixth Form College as well as the renowned Blundell Park, home of Grimsby Town Football Club. This pioneering program is similar to the boys' pathway, but it is designed exclusively for young female athletes. It offers:

 

  • Sessions with elite coaches.
  • The EFL CEFA League sees regular competition.
  • For students interested in a career in sports, we offer a bespoke study curriculum that includes a thorough Level 3 Sport qualification.

 

How Do I Apply?

In October 2024, applications will be accepted for the GTFC Football Shadow Scholarship as well as the Franklin Sixth Form College Scholarships 2025. You must be talented in football, have a strong love for the game, and be dedicated to improving both academically and athletically in order to apply.
