You will help design and implement our machine learning strategy to the substantial supply chain and help build the future of our manufacturing systems and smarter factories. We will be collaborating and working with multi-functional teams and applying algorithms to large-scale data.

 

Description

Product Operations partners with a variety of different engineering and operations teams, our team leads development of machine learning solutions. We deliver projects from end-to-end: problem statement and conceptualization, proof-of-concept, and participation in final deployment!

You will also perform ad-hoc statistical analyses. You will also work closely with data engineers to generate detailed business intelligence solutions. You will be expected to conduct presentations of analyses to a wide range of audiences including executives.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 3+ years experience in machine learning algorithms, statistics, and data mining models with an emphasis on large language models.
  • Masters in Computer Science, Statistics, Operations Research, Physics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Understand algorithms (be able to tweak them when needed) as well as infrastructure that enables fast iterations.
  • Strong software development skills with proficiency in Python. Experienced user of ML and data science libraries.
  • Experience working with distributed data/computing tools: Map/Reduce, Hadoop, Hive, Spark, SQL/NoSQL is a plus.
  • Ability to meaningfully present results of analyses in a clear and impactful manner. Able to break down sophisticated machine learning model knowledge’s to digestible information for non-technical audience.
  • Proven experience in managing and mentoring teams is a plus.
  • Experience in applying ML techniques in manufacturing and testing space is a major plus.
  • Proven experience with transformer models such as BERT, GPT, RoBERTa, etc., and a solid understanding of their underlying principles is a plus.

 

Pay & Benefits

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $143,100 and $214,500, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Description

Apple's Video Computer Vision (VCV) Face and Body technologies team is looking for a skilled Machine Learning Engineer with experience developing ML models for computer vision and graphics applications. We are actively involved in the whole ML cycle from data collection design and data processing to model design and experiments to validation and QA in the wild. We perform applied research development to adapt state-of-the-art methods or implement new methods to ship features on visionOS and iOS platforms. In this role, you will work closely with other ML engineers as well as data and software engineers both internally and multi-functionally.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Software engineering skills and proficiency in Python
  • Experience with PyTorch
  • Independent problem solving skills
  • BS degree and 3+ years of experience working on ML projects for computer vision / graphics applications

The Systems team combines a wide variety of skills ranging from low-level optimization of CUDA kernels over improving model implementation for better training efficiency to architecting datagen-training-evaluation pipelines.

 

Description

The Systems team is looking for a skilled and highly motivated ML Software Engineer to support our efforts on training efficiency. In this role, you will be responsible for evaluating and enabling hardware accelerators to optimize the training and inference of deep learning models at Apple. This is a highly cross-functional role that requires close collaboration and coordination with the ML modeling team, compute platform team, and external partners. Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and integrate hardware accelerators for the training and inference of deep learning models.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to prototype and develop solutions that enhance the performance of our ML stack.
  • Integrate new technologies (eg. torch. compile, XLA, Model Parallelism, Tensor Parallelism, FP8) into the existing codebase to enable large-scale deployment of ML models, significantly reducing engineering iteration time.
  • Profile system performance, identify bottlenecks, and optimize runtime performance.
  • Work closely with external partners to ensure smooth integration of hardware accelerators with our existing infrastructure.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in hardware accelerators and deep learning technologies.

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Excellent Python coding skills
  • Experience with GPUs, TPUs, AWS Trainium
  • Familiarity with PyTorch
  • Excellent interpersonal skills

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • ML System experience - Large Scale distributed Training and Inference.
  • Familiarity with JAX, XLA, HLO, Torch Compile
  • Experience implementing/optimizing CUDA kernels
