Job Description 

SOX Compliance Manager

Reporting to the Director SOX Compliance, the SOX Compliance Manager will be responsible for all aspects of Sarbanes-Oxley compliance for IT controls (IT General & Application Controls) including assisting with control design, control testing, and consulting the business on compliance results and remediation requirements. The candidate will also manage the relationship with the control owners, advocate for an appropriate control environment and collaborate effectively with internal and external audit.

 

Role and Responsibilities

  • Develop an understanding of the IT & business processes by reviewing operating systems and application environments and their linkages to the business processes.
  • Ensure the documentation is up to date and assess the relevant risks through the SOX lens.
  • Evaluate the controls (IT General & Application Controls), execute/review test procedures to conclude on design and operating effectiveness of the controls and prepare detailed workpapers.
  • Review the work of team members to ensure quality standards are met, and sufficient appropriate audit documentation is maintained to support the CEO/CFO certification.
  • Manage deficiencies from identification through to remediation and prepare status reports.
  • Assist in and perform ad hoc projects as assigned. Participate as a member of a project team to ensure new / changing processes are SOX compliant at the time of implementation.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with control owners and external audit.
  • Work with external auditors to plan and execute on an expanding reliance testing program.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of IT audit/SOX experience in public accounting and/or industry experience.
  • BS/BA or MS/MA in IT, audit, or related discipline or equivalent.
  • CISA designation preferable or in progress or willingness to obtain in near future.
  • Understanding of IT audit standards and frameworks (e.g. COBIT).
  • Understanding of Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) / Bill198 (CSOX).
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to influence and motivate others.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and executive presence, including a proven ability to develop and maintain internal and external executive relationships.
  • Experience collaborating across multiple internal departments and geographies and working with remote colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work as a part of a team to deliver results while maintaining a high degree of professionalism.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to challenge the status quo.

Job Duties

  • Research and suggest innovative technologies for ADAS. This should include sensors (cameras, RADARS, LiDARs etc), algorithms (pedestrian detection, traffic signs recognition etc)
  • Develop new software written primarily in C and C++.
  • Integrate 3rd party technologies such as post processing algorithms.
  • Work directly with hardware vendors to integrate their Image Signal Processors and camera sensor modules.
  • Work with multimedia team to integrate video codecs for encoding or decoding
  • Experience with Linux and/or Android is a big asset
  • Device driver experience on any platform is an asset (DMA, interrupts, memory mapping, etc).
  • Technical understanding of multimedia frameworks, codecs, containers, and streaming formats is an asset.
  • Technical understanding of image processing is an asset (OpenCV, OpenGL etc)
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Self motivated.
  • Personal time projects in software considered an asset. Photography as a hobby is an asset.

Are you interested in working with an elite team that is at the core of everything we do?  We are looking for a Systems Integration Developer to work with some of our newest and largest customers. In this role you will be working with the entire suite of QNX products (Hypervisor, QAVF, Blackchannel, Acoustics, etc). Your input will be valuable to help guide both module and system level architecture from the early stages of the project. You will be exposed to bleeding edge technology from both QNX and our customers in the areas of ADAS, electrification, autonomous drive, high performance computing, virtualization, and everything automotive.

 

Key Accountabilities:

  • Help to establish module and system level architecture at beginning of projects
  • Making “best practice” recommendations for using QNX products
  • Running experiments to help prove out architectural decisions
  • Troubleshooting and debugging customer issues
  • Participate in safety and security related topics (training will be provided)
  • Writing “Proof Of Concept” apps to aid integration of QNX modules into customer systems
  • Deep dive of performance issues and possible optimizations
  • Learning how to leverage the differences in the various HW platforms to an advantage

 

Minimum Required Qualifications:

Education and Experience

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or another related field
  • 5+ years embedded software development
  • An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered
  • Customer service experience in a related environment would be an asset

 

Technical Requirements

  • Must have strong C programming skills
  • Must have excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must have knowledge of GCC and GDB
  • Experience working on large projects with high levels of integration would be an asset
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical thinking/innovation, including the ability to identify and analyze technical problems
  • Hands on development experience using embedded operating systems (QNX, Linux, GreenHills, VXworks preferred)
  • Exceptional time management and multi-tasking skills

  • Hands on experience in the development of software following safety standards (ISO26262, IEC61508, etc) or MIL standards would be a standout skill
