Currently we are working with an array of clients including independent, national and global brokerages. Employee benefits and offerings differ from company to company but examples included Bonus's, Carparks, Insurance benefits, Flexible Work Arrangements and Additional Leave Days.

The Roles

Hooker & Heijden are seeking talented brokers from all levels of experience including Assistant / Account Executives, Account Managers and Account Directors to manage a variety of portfolios including Domestic, SME, Commercial, Mid-market and Corporate segments. 

A small selection of our vacancies currently include:

  • Receptionist / Broker Support - $60K - $80K pkg
  • Account Executive - SME to $90K pkg
  • Account Manager - Commercial to $130k pkg

We are looking for a broad range of experience and as such requirements will vary role to role but as a guide we are seeking candidates with the following:

  • Tier 1 broking essential for most roles however open to Tier 2 as a minimum
  • Experience 1 - 10+ years of insurance related experience. (Claims, Underwriting, Broking)
  • Exposure to classes such as Personal Lines, Property, Business Packs, Liability and Financial Lines
  • Prior experience undertaking all aspects of insurance broking (or broking administration) including responding to client requests, all processing and documentation associated with the portfolio and claims management
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to work in a collaborative team environment
  • Competent in IT and office procedures
  • Experience in some of Winbeat, Officetech, ibais CBS and Sunrise experience

Potential duties in these roles will include:

  • Executive level leadership and commercial acumen
  • Providing support to senior staff
  • Management of portfolio
  • New Business
  • Team Mentoring
  • Processing quotations, endorsements, renewals and cancellations
  • Proactively act upon new business leads provided by the brokerage
  • Identify opportunities for cross-sell and/or up-sell of product to clients
  • Achieve individual and team KPI's
  • Working collaboratively with team members.
  • Managing Claims

THE ROLE

  • Manage and grow your own portfolio of SME clients whilst partnering with Senior Account Executives on larger complex accounts
  • Deliver an excellent client experience for existing and new clients
  • Provide value, tailored advice, risk management solutions and claims services to clients across various industries
  • Build and nurture trusting and lasting relationships with clients, insurers and other key business partners
  • Help identify and convert new business opportunities
  • All aspects of general portfolio management with the assistance of our amazing Insurance Administration Team and Claims Relationship Manager

ABOUT YOU

  • Have a passion for customer service and client relationship management
  • A willingness to learn, demonstrate initiative and the ability to be flexible in a rapidly growing organisation
  • A great work ethic and ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • 3+ years’ experience in the Insurance Industry (preferably in broking however underwriting will also be considered), with a broad knowledge of general insurance products
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organisational skills with an eye for detail
  • Tier 1 Qualification in Insurance Broking is essential and pathways to completing your Diploma will be implemented.
