Apple’s Global Business Solutions (GBS) team, within the Finance organization, partners with Apple’s business across Greater China, including Retail, Sales, Operations, R&D and Services. In addition to supporting transactional and financial reporting processes, GBS provides a strategic platform to uncover trends and insights to enhance financial controls and compliance, operational efficiency and business performance.
We look for individuals with solid technical skills and the right balance of problem solving and strategic thinking to support the growth of Apple in Greater China. You will work closely with key business partners on daily finance operations and work together with the team to identify new opportunities in reporting, analytics and process improvement.
Description
As a Finance Intern in GBS, you will help to develop efficient, compliant processes and analytics solutions for Apple’s business needs. You will have the opportunity to work on analytics, projects and daily operations. This is a dynamic role with plenty of room for growth and evolving job responsibilities, including the following:
-Receive coaching from experts with deep finance knowledge and experience
-Proactively identify opportunities to simplify end-to-end processes and drive efficiency, while maintaining strong compliance and controls
-Ensures results meet key performance metrics and service level agreements (SLAs), aligned with partner expectations
-Use data visualization to identify operational trends, outliers and insights that drive tangible outcomes for our business partners
Minimum Qualifications
- Educational background in finance, accounting or relevant majors
- Available to join internship for at least 6 months full-time (October - March)
- Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills in both English and Chinese

- Understanding of (or willingness to learn) core finance processes with the courage to challenge the status-quo, identify solutions, influence and execute effectively

Responsibilities may include:
• Camera/Touch/Display Engineering: Optics, Flat Panel/HW, Touch Mechanical Design. Design & Implement experiments validating new materials (optical, mechanical); Optimize for performance and reliability
• Wireless Technologies: Antenna Design, RF System Level Validation, Automated Software/Tool Dev, Optimization of RF Automated Systems, RF Sys Analysis
• ASIC / VLSI: RTL Design & Implementation, Verification, Integration, Validation, Emulation, Power/Tech & Circuits, CAD, STA, Physical Design, Low Power Design, Signal Integrity, Analog/Mixed Signal, LDV/HDV, DFT
• System Development: Electrical System Design and Integration, System-Level Testing Support, Schematic Capture, Bug Resolution
• Acoustics/Audio: Hardware (Speaker/Microphone) Design, Mechanical Design and Prototyping, System Integration, Noise and Vibration, Audio Feature Design (Software & Machine Learning), Hearing Health, Psychoacoustics and User studies
• Embedded Systems, Low-Level Microcontroller Code Dev, Prototyping concepts, design verification (FPGA), Streamline Electrical Design
• Firmware Development: Write/Debug low level firmware, drivers, protocols and other firmware code, developing embedded firmware solutions
Minimum Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a BS, MS, or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- At the end of the internship, you must return to school to continue your education or the internship must be the last requirement for you to graduate.
Preferred Qualifications
- It’s helpful for candidates to meet one or more of the following qualifications, but it isn’t a requirement
- Computer system architecture, digital logic design and verification, digital and analog circuit analysis, and Analog IC
- Chip design and microarchitecture of on-chip interconnection networks
- Antenna, cellular, wireless, OTA, RF Engineering, high-speed signals, wireless communication theory, and RF circuit design
- CPU & GPU Architecture
- Proficiency in C, C++, Python, Perl, SQL, assembly, Mac OS X, PH, Obj-C, VHDL, Verilog RTL, Digital Logic Design
- Experience using measurement equipment, such as spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, and oscilloscopes
- Experience interpreting schematics with physical design and debugging of circuits via FPGA or PCBs
- Prior internship experience, relevant project experience (group or individual), TA experience, and/or relevant work experience
