Location

This position is US - Remote Eligible. The role may include occasional work at an Airbnb office or attendance at off sites, as agreed to with your manager and the Intern Program team. Airbnb, Inc. can employ in states where we have registered entities. Currently, employees cannot be located in: Alaska, Indiana, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota, Wisconsin, Alabama, Mississippi, Oklahoma, Delaware and Rhode Island. Internship Summary

Our Engineering team is seeking interns for our 2023 summer internship program from May 22, 2023 - August 11, 2023.

At Airbnb, we use technology to create human connection all around the world. Our engineering teams see big challenges as opportunities to craft beautiful and scalable solutions that inspire technical innovation both in our company and across the tech and travel industries as a whole.

Examples of previous engineering intern projects includes:

• Creating the backend and UI for creating Airbnb gift cards, allowing gift cards to be personalized to specific guests
• Building out new functionalities for Airbnb reviews, allowing users to search, summarize, and distill reviews of our listings into succinct and useful highlights
• Developing a new, more intuitive interface for message threads to help hosts manage their conversations with guests more easily and efficiently.

As an intern, you’ll be integrated into a team where you’ll drive a project from end-to-end that aligns with your technical interest and goals. Your manager, team, and our incredible employee community will strive to be super hosts to you during the summer. We provide the support, mentorship, fun, and real world experience needed to accelerate your learning and make a real impact on our product, as Airbnb revolutionizes connection, belonging, and travel.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Own and drive a capstone project from beginning to end
• Collaborate with multiple team members to achieve project milestones
• Communicate with team and stakeholders to provide project updates
• Proactively seek and provide feedback throughout the internship

Qualifications

• Enrolled as a full-time student with at least 1 semester of school remaining following the internship (graduating Fall 2023 or later)
• Knowledge of Computer Science fundamentals including data structures, algorithms, design patterns, etc.
• Proficient in one or more of the following languages and tools: Java, Scala, Ruby, Ruby on Rails, C++, SQL, HTML/CSS, Javascript, Objective-C, Swift (iOS), Kotlin (Android)
• Leadership position, community involvement, and or teaching/mentoring experience is a plus!
• Work authorization for employment in the United States is required (CPT/OPT is accepted) - visa sponsorship is unavailable

Salary Information

Our job titles may span more than one career or degree level. Our intern range is between $3,950 biweekly to $4,500 biweekly. This role may also be eligible for benefits and Employee Travel Credits.
