TIPS AND TRICKS FOR WRITING A STRONG RESUME

Admin | July 17, 2024, 7:36 a.m.

In today's competitive employment market, your CV must strong—it is your first impression, so make it matter! Your CV might influence whether a potential host organization considers you for an interview, so it's critical to put your best foot forward. The first 15-20 words of your resume are all you have to get the HO's interest.

For many, preparing a resume from scratch might be intimidating, but don't worry, our blog, our staff, and resume template are here to assist! From layout to content, we've got you covered. Here are some suggestions and tactics to help you develop a standout CV that shows your talents and knowledge, increasing your chances of being hired.

1. Provide regular updates.

It is critical to maintain your CV up to date, particularly with recent work, new responsibilities, projects, successes, and abilities, and to prioritize your most recent job experience at the top.

2) Formatting

Keep things simple!

Easy to read: Use font 10 Arial.

Use headers and line breaks to separate material.

Bold for headings draws attention and makes them simpler to read.

Maintain a uniform style throughout all headers, bullet points, typefaces, and other elements.

3. Promote yourself.

Make sure your CV shows your most relevant talents and experiences for the internship position, utilizing concrete examples to emphasise your strengths. For example, instead of stating "cooked food," say "demonstrating cooking expertise using a variety of cooking methods." Instead of the phrase "communication skills" , state "good communication skills acquired via study and customer service roles." Browse the list of abilities that the internship may demand; it is a good idea to include these terms in your CV, but remember to always be honest and accurate.

These strategies will make your resume more dynamic and engaging: employ action verbs like "achieved," "implemented," "developed," and "led" to express your successes and responsibilities, hence increasing the impact of your resume.

4. Ask for assistance

If you are unsure, don't be afraid to ask for assistance. Friends and family are always a fantastic choice, as is your IPS. It's usually a good idea to get a second opinion and have someone examine your spelling, grammar, and punctuation. You may also use free grammar tools like Grammarly.

Creating a decent CV requires time and work, but it is worthwhile. You'll boost your chances of getting an interview by employing a clear structure and emphasizing your important accomplishments and abilities. Good luck!
